Now what?

We have a list of generals. Great. What's next? - Kevin D.

Each general should have his own page, explaining in detail anything we can source about his advice before, during, and after invasion. Then this page should be rewritten to condense the highlights of each general's opinions into a paragraph or two, and linked back to their respective pages.

[edit] Where are we going?

I'm still not quite sure where we're going with this page. Do we need it at all? It was just a spur of the moment creation. Dean Esmay 14:54, 28 May 2007 (EDT)

Yes, I think it's valid. People are always saying, "Listen to the generals, listen to the retired military officers." While I think much of what a retired military officer says is bunk (even the ones I like - armchair QB and all that), and one has to question why they're "retired" in the first place, the fact remains we hear their opinions endlessly, whether we want to hear them or not. And like it or not, the advice we get from them runs the gamut of all possibilities. So when someone says, "No one ever listened to the generals," it's a lie. What they mean is, "No one ever listened to General ZZZ who said XXX before YYY (and I know he did because I read it on the Internet), and I can see clearly (through 20/20 hindsight) that that's what we should have done. Why didn't you listen to him (and ignore all the other sage advice we got from everyone else)?" - Chris 15:32, 28 May 2007 (EDT)
